JAMEA MARLOWE

An adult woman with dreadlocks and a pastel tie-dye hoodie leaning over a table to speak with two children sitting at a table with red tablecloths. The children are eating and drinking from blue cups, with one child wearing a hooded jacket and the other a teal jacket, and they are engaged in a conversation or activity.

Jamea is the owner and founder of The Broken Crayon , a creative arts studio dedicated to making art fun, engaging, and accessible for all. She is an artist, wife, and proud boy mom, as well as a former licensed elementary art teacher with several years of experience teaching grades K–5. During the 2021–2022 school year, she was recognized as a Top 5 Finalist for Teacher of the Year.

Jamea’s passion for art began in the third grade, inspired by an elementary art teacher who encouraged her creativity. That early spark grew into a lifelong commitment to sharing the transformative power of the arts. Through The Broken Crayon, she continues to nurture creativity in children and families, helping them discover their own love and passion for artistic expression.
